Hyndburn Leisure Centre is preparing to unveil its newly refurbished gym in January 2027, marking an exciting start to a very special year as the centre celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The centre, which first opened its doors on 7th January 1977, will celebrate 50 years of supporting health, fitness and wellbeing in the local community on 7th January 2027. The significant investment, supported by funding from Hyndburn Borough Council, provides a fantastic way to begin this milestone year, demonstrating a shared commitment to improving facilities and creating opportunities for future generations.
Earlier this year, Hyndburn Leisure invited customers to share their views on how its facilities and services could be improved. The gym and fitness equipment at Hyndburn Leisure Centre were among the key areas highlighted by customers, and the Trust has listened and responded with a major investment in the facility.
The transformation will introduce new Life Fitness equipment, an improved layout, expanded training areas and a fresh, modern look and feel. Designed with members at its heart, the refurbished gym will offer a brighter, more welcoming and inspiring environment for people of all ages and abilities.
Whether taking the first steps towards a healthier lifestyle, returning to fitness or working towards new goals, the upgraded facility will provide the space, equipment and support to help everyone succeed.
