Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Boys Under 14’s Football team hoping to secure historic victory in the National Cup Semi-Final this Saturday!
The Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Boys Under 14’s District football team have scored success recently by reaching the semi-final of the ESFA National Cup. Now they’re lacing up their boots ready to tackle their rivals, Manchester, in what promises to be an exciting match at Clitheroe Football Club on Saturday, March 16th.
The journey to the semi-final has been nothing short of extraordinary with the team defying the odds of overcoming established opponents from across the nation such as Knowsley & St. Helen’s, Middlesbrough, Leeds and Stockport to name a few, showcasing their talent and determination on the field.
For many of these young athletes, competing at this level signifies the highest point they have reached in their footballing journeys to date. Should they emerge victorious in the semi-final and advance to the final, they will etch their names in history as the first team from Lancashire to do so since Preston in 1936, a testament to their skill, teamwork, and dedication.
Their achievements signal the rise of district-level football in Hyndburn & the Ribble Valley, made possible by the support and guidance of local teachers Adam Hutchinson (Chairman) from Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, David Allen at St. Christopher’s C of E High School and Andy Kelly at St. Augustine’s, Billington. Their commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a love for the game has been instrumental in both this team and the other representative side’s success, from Under 11s through to Under 15s, for both boys and girls. The teams have benefitted from the generosity of organisations such as Clitheroe Wolves, Network Plus and John Haworth & Best Destinations but as the teams continue to go from strength to strength, they are actively seeking support from local businesses through sponsorship to ensure the sustainability of the district’s future. Businesses interested in sponsoring the Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Representative District Football Teams are encouraged to reach out via email at [email protected].
If you’d like to support the Hyndburn & Ribble Valley Boys Under 14’s Football Team in their mission to make history you are warmly invited to join us at The Eco Giants Stadium, Shawbridge, Clitheroe for a 2.00 kick off where you can cheer on top goalscorer Daniel Juriansz, Archie Lorimer of the Wales national schoolboys team, captain Andrew Allen and all of the boys proudly representing their schools, their families and our area!
Entry is free of charge and all are welcome. A huge thank you to Clitheroe FC for their generosity in hosting this semi-final! Thank you to Tony Kirk for the team picture.
