February 2021 – Leisure Update

As we move closer to learning more about the Government’s plans for moving out of national lockdown restrictions, we are excited to announce that both Hyndburn Leisure Centre & Mercer Hall Leisure Centre will be ready to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.

2020 was an incredibly challenging year for the Leisure Trust and we thank all our loyal members for their support and patience during national and local restrictions and while we have been preparing sites to reopen safely in 2021.

In the weeks to come, more information will be shared with members, including when Direct Debit payments for your membership will restart.

When we reopen, if restrictions do not allow for the delivery of indoor fitness classes, we will continue to offer a reduced payment for Premier & Feelgood Premier members, reducing your membership payment from £32.50, to £27.50 at both sites.  These changes will remain in place until we are able to run indoor fitness classes again.

Also, in-line with our new COVID-secure operating procedures, all activities are to be booked in advance. More information on the booking process will follow shortly.

Since the first lockdown in March, the ongoing issues that we have faced for some time with a major leak from the pool at Mercer Hall Leisure Centre have been exacerbated.  Over the past 10 months we have been working with industry specialists to investigate the reason behind the significant water loss.  The findings to date are still inconclusive, therefore when we reopen Mercer Hall Leisure Centre, the pool will unfortunately not be in use.

We would like to remind and encourage all members that the pool at Hyndburn Leisure Centre will be available for you to use and a new pool programme will be shared shortly.

In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding your membership, please contact   with your query in the Subject Line. Contacting this email does not mean you wish to cancel your membership, it is just your point of contact in regard to restarting your membership at Hyndburn Leisure Centre or Mercer Hall Leisure Centre.

Moving forward, we want to simplify points of contact for all our customers. We have decided to merge Mercer Hall’s Facebook page with Hyndburn Leisure Centre’s page, to ensure everyone has access to all our content.
