The Hyndburn Sports Awards are the largest annual celebration of amateur sport in the borough. They pay tribute to those, young and old, that show dedication to perform at the highest level or those who work tirelessly to support individuals or clubs week in, week out, for the love of sport.

These were the category winners from the 2012 Hyndburn Awards.

Coach of the Year – Richard Smith

Community Club of the Year – Accrington Girls and Ladies Football Club

Young Volunteer of the Year – Sarah Cowgill

Adult Volunteer of the Year – Chris Bamford

Rising Star Award – Oakley Woodhouse

School Award – Peel Park Primary School

Lifetime Achievement Award – Sheila Dixon
